went to the farmers market in lincoln park today with paul, and bought fresh basil, parmesan cheese, and duck-pear-port sausage! came home and made this delicious pesto pasta with sausage!
pesto: (recipe from here) <–note: paul is allergic to nuts, which is why we looked up a nut-free recipe. if i were eating this with other friends, i probably would have added toasted pine nuts or almonds
- 3 cups fresh basil leaves
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- About 1/3 cup quality parmesan cheese, grated
- Splash of fresh lemon juice <– i forgot to buy lemon and this still came out delicious, but i think it would have been nice
- About 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
